How this works
Where the data comes from
The embassy books this service through a public Microsoft Bookings page. This site reads the same public availability data that page uses, and nothing else. It never books, holds or changes anything.
The booking window
Currently the official page lets you book from 48 hours ahead up to the end of the day 60 days ahead (Bern time); the tracker follows whatever the embassy sets. Slots further out are already on the embassy calendar but stay Unreleased until their day enters the window.
Release nights
Every night at 00:00 Bern the window moves forward one day. Because appointments are only on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, new days are Released on Thursday, Friday and Sunday nights. Their slots usually fill within hours.
Cancellations
People can cancel their own bookings, and the slot is free again right away. Currently this site checks every hour (every 6 hours after its first two weeks) and anyone can trigger a check, at most once a minute. A slot that is freed and Taken again between two checks is never seen.
Get an email when a slot is Open
When a check finds a Cancellation that makes a slot Open, every subscriber gets one email with the slot times and a link to the official page. Sign up below; it takes one confirmation email.

This is an unofficial, private tool. It is not run by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Embassy Bern, or Microsoft.
It only reads publicly available scheduling data. It can be wrong, late or offline at any time, and it gives no legal or consular advice. The embassy's own pages and the official booking page are the only authority. Nothing here guarantees an appointment.
Before booking, follow the embassy's loss of nationality process: the service can only be booked once your documents have been submitted.
Rules for everyone using this site
- Book only on the official booking page, by yourself, for yourself.
- No bots, scripts or automated booking, and no automated use of this site.
- Never sell, trade, reserve or hold appointments for anyone else, and never charge for access to them.
- Don't use this site or its alerts for anything unlawful, or to get around the embassy's rules.
- Give the embassy accurate information. Misrepresentation to a consular officer is a serious offence.
Breaking these rules ends your access to alerts.
